Following its popular nationwide PBS premiere in hundreds of U.S. cities in June, The Hidden Map, a gripping documentary that takes viewers deep into the forbidden Armenian past of Turkey to reveal the continuing story,  has been scheduled to air four more times this month in New Jersey and New York, the #1 public television market in the U.S. The story comes to life as an Armenian-American granddaughter of genocide survivors ventures to their lost ancestral homeland in search of long-buried truths. A chance encounter with a Scottish explorer leads to a joint odyssey beneath the surface of modern-day Turkey,  unearthing sacred relics, silenced voices, daring resilience and the hidden map. The result is a story of discovery, heartbreak and hope that belongs to all of humanity.  The Hidden Map, which took four trips and seven years to complete, was directed, produced, written and edited by Ani Hovannisian.

The 90-minute broadcast includes not only the film, but eye-opening in-studio conversations with filmmaker Ani Hovannisian and opportunities for viewers to show their support to PBS. Viewers who pledge even a nominal amount to support PBS’s broadcasts of The Hidden Map will not only help secure additional airings on a national stage, but will receive unique mementos, including The Hidden Map DVD,  postcards of historic Western Armenia and exclusive hand-crocheted dolls made in Goris, Armenia. Some of the women making the one-of-a-kind dolls are displaced citizens of Artsakh working to rebuild their lives. Watch, support, and help bring this Armenian and human story into the homes of millions of Americans.
