Concert: “Armenia 1918/2018: Armistice & Independence”
The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City will present an Armenia-themed concert as part of its “Great Music in a Great Space” series. “Armenia 1918/2018: Armistice and Independence–A Centennial Celebration,” a choral concert featuring world music ensemble Rose of the Compass, will be performed on Monday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m., at St. John the Divine (1047 Amsterdam Ave., New York). The program features all Armenian compositions, including many by Gomidas; it celebrates the armistice ending World War I, and honors those who perished in the Armenian Genocide.
