New York’s St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral will hold a special service on the evening of Sunday, September 15, to honor the major feast day known as Khatchveratz, or the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel spent the Feast of the Holy Assumption (August 18) at the St. Sarkis Church of Charlotte, NC—marking his first visit as a bishop to the parish he formerly served as a visiting pastor.
On Sunday, August 18, Armenian Churches across the Eastern Diocese observed the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother-of-God. Each parish held the “Blessing of Grapes” service after the Divine Liturgy, and proceeded to mark the occasion in its own unique way.
This year the Armenian Church liturgical calendar designates August 29 as the feast of St. Jeremiah: one of the major prophets of the Bible.
