Sts. Vartanantz Church

Sts. Vartanantz Church of Chelmsford, MA, will hold its annual Food Festival on Saturday, Nov. 19, 12 noon-7 p.m., at the church (180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford). Eat-in or take-out, but all lunches and dinners, along with Country Store items, must be pre-ordered by Wednesday, Nov. 9. Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, will celebrate its acquisition of the 3,000-volume library of the late, great scholar of Armenian studies Robert W. Thomson, with an exhibit and lecture, on Friday, Oct. 28. Bp. Daniel Findikyan will be the special speaker in Heritage Hall (620 Michigan Ave. N.E., Washington) beginning at 5 p.m., with a reception to follow. The speech is paired with an exhibit of Armenian books from the Thomson and university collections, in Mullen Library (May Gallery, Rm. 119). The event is sponsored by CUA’s Institute for the Study of Eastern Christianity. Dr. Jesse Arlen, director of the Eastern Diocese’s Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center, will deliver a six-part online lecture series entitled, “An Introduction to Medieval Armenian Poetry,” on Thursday evenings–Oct. 20, Nov. 3, Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 8–at 7 p.m. EDT, over the Zoom video platform. The lectures are being offered through St. Nersess Seminary’s Public Lecture Series, and will have a sequel in the spring semester. Click the link to register for the series.
