IN-PERSON LECTURE & EXHIBIT: Robert Thomson Research Collection, w/ Bp. Daniel Findikyan
Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, will celebrate its acquisition of the 3,000-volume library of the late, great scholar of Armenian studies Robert W. Thomson, with an exhibit and lecture, on Friday, Oct. 28. Bp. Daniel Findikyan will be the special speaker in Heritage Hall (620 Michigan Ave. N.E., Washington) beginning at 5 p.m., with a reception to follow. The speech is paired with an exhibit of Armenian books from the Thomson and university collections, in Mullen Library (May Gallery, Rm. 119). ONLINE LECTURE: Medieval Armenian Poetry, w/ Dr. Jesse Arlen
Dr. Jesse Arlen, director of the Eastern Diocese’s Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center, will deliver a six-part online lecture series entitled, “An Introduction to Medieval Armenian Poetry,” on Thursday evenings–Oct. 20, Nov. 3, Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 8–at 7 p.m. EDT, over the Zoom video platform. Vicken Aykazian, titled “The World Council of Churches 11th Assembly & the Ecumenical Role of the Armenian Church,” on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
