The Eastern Diocese’s Sacred Music Council is sponsoring an online “School of Sharagans” series for altar servers, choir singers, and church organists, scheduled to meet on four Saturdays–Sep. 17, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, and Nov. 19–from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will learn the Ganonaklookh and Hanksdyan sharagans of the Night Hour, in workshops led by Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian, the Diocesan Sacred Music Instructor, over the Zoom video platform. The online sessions are free and open to the public. Holy Trinity Church of Cambridge, MA, and the Erevan Choral Society and Orchestra will present a “Christmas Holiday Concert” on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary (145 Brattle St., Cambridge). This year’s concert–honoring the late Fr. Oshagan Minassian (Erevan Choral Society’s founder and music director from 1965 to 2008), on the 90th anniversary of his birth–will feature traditional Armenian and Western seasonal music. Soloists Rosy Anoush Svazlian and Giovanni Formizano will join the chorale, under the baton of Konstantin Petrossian. Open to the public, admission is free. The Cultural Committee of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Church (Providence, RI) will continue its popular online series, “Armenian Cultural Hour” on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. This week features a streamed concert, “Aram Satian: Favorite Songs,” featuring talented singers of the Armenian Radio and TV Symphony Jazz Orchestra. St. Kevork Church of Houston, TX, will honor its pastor, Fr. Martiros Hakobyan, on the 15th anniversary of his priestly ordination, on Sunday, Dec. 4, following badarak, at the church’s Hekimian Hall (3211 Synott Rd., Houston). Diocesan Legate Abp.
