A rare auction of fine art pieces by important Armenian artists will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 18, beginning at 11 a.m. (EST), at Ridgewood Art Galleries (18 W. Ridgewood Ave., Paramus, NJ). Items will include works by Aivazovsky, Pushman, Atamian, Jansem, Terelmezian, Bashinzhagyan, and others. St. James Church of Watertown, MA, will mark its Name Day and 87th anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 16., at 12:30 p.m., at the church (465 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown). The day will also honor pastor Fr. Arakel Aljalian on his 25th ordination anniversary.  Diocesan Primate Fr. Daniel Findikyan will preside over banquet and badarak (which begins 10 a.m.). The Eastern Diocese’s Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center will welcome scholar Dr. Roberta Ervine on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., for a presentation on “Armenian Commentaries on the Church Building,” in Guild Hall of the Diocesan Center (630 Second Ave., New York). This final Enrichment Evening of 2018 will also conclude the Zohrab Center’s series of lectures dedicated to the 50th anniversary of St. Vartan Cathedral.
