New York’s “Socially Relevant Film Festival” will screen two Armenian films on Sunday, Mar. 18, at 6 and 7:30 p.m., at Cinema Village (22 E. 12th St., New York City): “Armenians of the World” (by Carmen Labaki) and “Hot Country, Cold Winter” (by David Safarian). St. Leon Church of Fair Lawn, NJ, will present an evening with Varujan Vosganian, celebrated author, poet, and member of Romanian parliament, hosted by Armenian Radio Hour’s Vartan Abdo, on Thursday, Mar. 8, at 7:45 p.m., in the church’s Charles & Grace Pinajian Youth Center (12-61 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn). The discussion (in English and Armenian) will focus on the new English edition of Vosganian’s Book of Whispers. The event is open to the public; reception and book signing will follow.
