Prayers for Healing at St. Vartan Cathedral
St. Vartan Cathedral will continue an old Armenian custom as it resumes its monthly “Prayers for Healing” service. The gathering aims to heal body, mind, and soul through prayer, music, Scripture-reading, and blessing with holy water. The first Prayers for Healing service will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m., in the cathedral (630 Second Ave., New York). Feast of the Lord’s Presentation at St. Vartan Cathedral
New York’s St. Vartan Cathedral will celebrate Dyarnntarach —the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord to the Temple—with special services on Feb. 13 and 14, 2020. Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel will preside over the services. On Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m., an “anticipatory service” of prayer will take place in the cathedral sanctuary, followed by a traditional lighting of a bonfire on the cathedral plaza. A reception will follow in Guild Hall. On Friday, Feb. 14—the feast day itself—the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the cathedral by Fr.
