St. Leon Church of Fair Lawn, NJ, will screen “Motherland,” a documentary film about women of Artsakh who detonate land mines, on Thursday, Mar. 5, at 7:45 p.m. in the church’s Abajian Hall (12-61 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn). Sts. Vartanantz Church of Chelmsford, MA, will begin its 51st season of Lenten programs–the “Fr. Ghevont Samoorian Lenten Program of Spiritual Renewal”–on Friday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the church (180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford). The lecture series is titled “For the Care and Health of Your Soul and Body”; the schedule will meet on Friday evenings throughout Lent. The Eastern Diocese’s Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center will launch a winter/spring season of lectures on environmental topics with a lecture by Zohrab Center director Dr. Christopher Sheklian, titled “Toward an Environmental Theology of the Armenian Church,” on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., in Guild Hall of the Diocesan Center (630 Second Ave., New York). St. Vartan Cathedral will continue an old Armenian custom as it resumes its monthly “Prayers for Healing” service. The gathering aims to heal body, mind, and soul through prayer, music, Scripture-reading, and blessing with holy water. The first Prayers for Healing service will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m., in the cathedral (630 Second Ave., New York).
