The Eastern Diocese’s Sacred Music Council will hold another online workshop aimed at deacons and altar servers. Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian and Fr. Hovhan Khoja-Eynatyan will lead “Hymns of the Order of Oil-Bearing Women” on Saturday, July 11, 11 a.m. to 12 noon, on the Zoom conference platform. ONLINE Seminar: Names, Monuments, and Racism (UPDATED)

St. Leon Church (Fair Lawn, NJ) will hold a 4-week multi-media seminar for high school-age students and college-age and older adults, “Names, Monuments, and Racism: A Global Perspective,” that explores current issues about confronting racism and injustice (incl. institutional name-changes, and toppling statues). Prof. Khatchig Mouradian (Columbia U.) will lead the four 75-minute sessions, focusing on case studies from the U.S., Armenia, Turkey, Germany, Lebanon, Namibia, and Japan. Classes will be held on the Zoom video conference platform at 7 p.m. EDT; the high school seminar meets on Tuesday evenings (Jul. 14, 21, 28, and Aug. 4); the college/adult seminar meets Wednesday evenings (Jul. 15, 22, 29, and Aug. 5).
