The Armenian Genocide Commemoration Committee of Connecticut will host a commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on Saturday, Apr. 27, at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the historic Connecticut House Chamber of the State Capitol (210 Capitol Ave., Hartford). Clergy from the state’s Armenian churches will offer the “Prayer for the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.” Keynote speaker is Dr. Melanie O’Brien: president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, associate professor of international law at U. of Western Australia, Perth, visiting at the U. of Minnesota. Armenian Genocide Commemoration (St. Elizabeth College Ctr. for Holocaust & Genocide Ed.)
The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education at NJ’s St. Elizabeth College will hold its annual Armenian Genocide commemoration on Wednesday, May 1, in Dolan Auditorium at the college’s Annunciation Center (2 Convent Rd., Morristown, NJ). “Forced Into Genocide” Book Presentation (Long Island, NY)
Holy Martyrs Church of Bayside, NY, is co-sponsoring a book presentation by Adrienne Alexanian, on her father’s memoir, Forced into Genocide. Holy Cross Church of Uptown New York will host a benefit concert on Sunday, Apr. 7, at 2 p.m., at the church (580 W. 187th St., New York, NY). Arya Anoush Balian will perform in a Solo Recital Concert, accompanied by Maestro Vagharshak Ohanyan.
