Ghevont Samoorian Lenten Program of Spiritual Renewal”–on Friday, Mar. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the church (180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford). The lecture series is titled “Who Christ Is: The ‘I Am’ Sayings of Jesus”; the schedule will meet on four Friday evenings of Lent, and end on Thursday, Apr. 4. The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education at NJ’s St. Elizabeth College will hold its annual Armenian Genocide commemoration on Tuesday, Apr. 30, at the college’s Annunciation Center (2 Convent Rd., Morristown, NJ). Dinner at 6:30 p.m.; program at 7:30 p.m. with keynote roundtable discussion featuring Khatchig Mouradian (Columbia University), Adrienne (editor of Forced Into Genocide), and Fr. Arshen Aivazian (senior Armenian Church pastor). Shushi Dance Ensemble also to perform. Free and open to public, but registration is required. A commemoration of the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be held at the Connecticut State Capitol (House Chamber) at 210 Capitol Ave., Hartford, CT, on Saturday, Apr. 27, beginning at 11 a.m. (Note: Please arrive by 10:30 to clear security and be seated). Salpi Ghazarian, director of the USC Institute of Armenian Studies, will deliver the keynote address: “Looking to the Future Without Forgetting the Past.” A reception will follow. Sponsored by four Armenian churches of Connecticut.

“The Paintings of Arthur Pinajian,” an exhibit of the artist’s rare works on paper and canvas, will hold its opening reception on Saturday, Apr. 13, at 7 p.m., the St. Vartan Cathedral Complex, 630 Second Ave. (corner 35th St.), New York, in Guild and Yerevan halls. Sponsored by the Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School, the exhibit will run Friday to Sunday, Apr. 12-14.
