Vartanantz Church of Chelmsford, MA, will host a presentation on “Connecting With Your Family Through Mindfulness,” by clinical psychologist Dr. Christopher Willard, on Friday, Apr. 12, at 6:30 p.m., at the church (180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford). Dr. Willard will discuss how to detect early symptoms of youthful distress, and offer mindfulness strategies to help families cope with childhood anxieties. St. Leon Church of Fair Lawn, NJ, will present a talk with author Raffi Bedrosyan on his book Trauma and Resilience: Armenian in Turkey, on Tuesday Apr. 2, at 7:45 p.m., at the church’s Charles & Grace Pinajian Youth Center (12-61 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn). In conversation with Khatchig Mouradian, Bedrosyan will discuss his activities championing the rights of Armenians (esp. Islamicized Armenians) living in Turkey. Admission is free. The Republic of Armenia’s Embassy to the U.S. will hold a town hall meeting with Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan on Friday, Mar. 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the New York headquarters of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (630 Second Ave., New York City). Defense Minister Tonoyan will be in the U.S. to participate in the UN Peacekeeping Conference.
