FILM SYNOPSIS: Haunted by his past, German journalist Robert Sternvall returns to Artsakh, in 2016, after 22 years when the Nagorno-Karabakh war reignites to cover the conflict. As a result of his journalistic investigation, Robert meets Sophia Marti, a young opera singer, who happens to be the daughter of missing photojournalist Edgar Martirosyan, whom Robert abandoned in captivity during the fall of the village of Talish of Nagorno-Karabakh in 1992. As their romance develops, Robert’s guilty conscience catches up with him.

The Eastern Diocese is pleased to offer a series of four day-long regional retreats for ACYOA Juniors in the coming fall season. These in-person gatherings are designed to enrich young spiritual life, while also reuniting Diocesan youth for a day of fun after the long isolation of the pandemic. The Diocesan Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries will be organizing the retreats, which are open to all youth 13 to 18 years of age across the Diocese. Join in a day of fun, fellowship, and a chance to catch up with fellow young faithful of the Armenian Church. Click here to register in advance.
