The ACYOA’s third annual “Bishop’s 5K Run/Walk” will take place on Saturday, Sep. 18, in New Jersey, and Saturday, Oct. 2 in Michigan. Participants of all ages can run, walk, jog—or take part “virtually.” Bishop Daniel Findikyan will join in both gatherings. Proceeds will go towards funding future ACYOA programs and ministries. IN-PERSON EVENT: Abp. Aykazian 50th Ordination Anniversary Banquet (Cheltenham, PA)
Holy Trinity Church of Cheltenham, PA, will host a banquet on Sunday, Oct. 17, to honor the 50th ordination anniversary of Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Diocesan Legate and Ecumenical Director. The celebratory banquet at the church (101 Ashmeade Rd., Cheltenham) will be held following the Divine Liturgy, with Archbishop Aykazian celebrating, and Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel Findikyan presiding. IN-PERSON EVENT: Diocesan Sacred Music Festival (New Britain, CT)
The Eastern Diocese’s fall 2021 “Sacred Music Festival” will run Friday to Sunday, Oct. 8-10, at Holy Resurrection Church in New Britain, CT (1910 Stanley St., New Britain). The festival is open to altar servers, choir members, organists, and all who love Armenian liturgical music. As conceived by the Diocese’s Sacred Music Council, the “Sacred Music Festival” will feature instructional workshops with musical experts, educational seminars, and concert performances of liturgical music.
Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel will deliver the keynote presentation, “The Holy Translators: Christ in a New Key,” on Saturday morning. Sessions include music training by Dn. Rubik Mailian, workshops by Fr. Arshen Ayvazian, Fr. Haroutiun Sabounjian, Linda Bullock, and others. Concert-presentations on Friday and Saturday nights. The ACYOA Juniors and Seniors of Holy Martyrs Church (Bayside, NY) will host a tri-state ACYOA gathering on Sunday, Sep. 12, from 1 to 6 p.m., at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary (486 Bedford Rd., Armonk, NY).
