Our Diocesan Ministries Department is a vibrant source of spiritual growth for every parish and parishioner of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.
It began with the generation that survived the Armenian Genocide and found refuge in America. They built our Cathedral out of gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ, for the blessings He gave them. In the early 1950s, faithful of all ages gave their support to the project—often collecting nickels and dimes in a “Cathedral Fundraising Box” that could be seen in every Armenian home.
The Armenian Church Youth Organization of America (ACYOA) Seniors from across the Eastern Diocese just returned from the fourth annual ACYOA Seniors Mission Trip. The ACYOA Central Council partnered with Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia and the Armenian Church of Atlanta Mission Parish in Roswell, GA the weekend of February 20-23, 2025. The Mission Trip was underwritten by a grant from the Dadourian Foundation and funds from the ACYOA Central Council, which covered the participants’ lodging, ground transportation, meals, and donation fees to participate in a Habitat for Humanity house build.
The morning of January 25 started off with a chill as the freezing winds cascaded between the skyscrapers of New York. Yet even the harsh winter winds couldn’t dampen the youthful warmth and energy that was present in Eastern Diocese’s mother cathedral
The ACYOA Central Council hosted its annual ACYOA Seniors National Fall Retreat in Lakeside, CT, on November 8-10. The theme this year was “The GIFT of Forgiveness: Growing in Faith Together.” Participants explored what it means to forgive and repent, and how we can forgive others and ourselves.
