The Eastern Diocese held its annual “ACYOA Seniors National Fall Retreat” over the weekend of November 10-12, at St. Iakovos Retreat Center in Kansasville, WI. Some 40 young adults from 19 parishes across the Eastern Diocese gathered for a weekend focused on the theme “Be a Witness.”
When the Komitas Choir of St. John Church of Southfield, MI, took a trip to Armenia in 2007, it led to the creation of a new program to instruct and inspire young souls of the parish. Some 16 years after its conception, St. John’s “Arts of Armenia” program is still flourishing.
The Eastern Diocese is pleased to announce that Arthur Ipek, a Masters of Science student in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, has been awarded the “Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund Fellowship” for 2023-24 academic year.
More than 350 ACYOA Seniors and young adults from across the Eastern Diocese met for the 2023 ACYOA General Assembly and Sports Weekend. This year’s gathering over Memorial Day Weekend was hosted by the ACYOA Seniors of St. Leon Church in Fair Lawn, NJ.
Over Memorial Day Weekend, 130 ACYOA Juniors from 11 parishes throughout the northeast, together with their chaperones, enthusiastically gathered at St. James Church in Watertown, MA, for the 45th annual Hye M’rtsoom ACYOA Junior Sports Weekend.
