Diocesan Primate Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan visited participants in the “Yn. Diane Chevian Memorial Youth Choir Workshop” at St. Nersess Seminary last week, encouraging the young singers and expressing gratitude for the ministry of the program.
The annual workshop brings together young people from across the Eastern Diocese to develop their musical gifts while deepening their understanding of the Armenian Church’s rich liturgical tradition.
Reflecting on his visit, Bishop Mesrop said he was inspired by the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants. “Hearing these young voices lifted my spirit and reminded me of the incredible gifts they bring to our Church,” he said. “I am so grateful to have spent time with these future leaders of our Church and witnessed their dedication and passion.”
The Primate also thanked St. Nersess Armenian Seminary Dean Fr. Mardiros Chevian, program director Fr. Haroutioun Sabounjian, Diocesan Sacred Music Council chair Fr. Hovhan Khoja-Eynatyan, and the entire workshop staff for their devoted leadership. “Your commitment and passion are truly commendable,” he said. “You are shaping the future of our Eastern Diocese.”
Offering words of encouragement to the young participants, Bishop Mesrop urged them to continue using their talents in service to God. “When you use your gifts to honor God, He will open doors you never imagined,” he said. “Keep shining, keep singing, and know that God’s favor is upon you!”
