The Women’s Guild Central Council (WGCC) of the Eastern Diocese hosted an online meeting with members of local parish Women’s Guilds on Saturday, November 8. Diocesan Vicar Fr. Simeon Odabashian opened the meeting and invited the various chapter members to introduce themselves.
Represented at the meeting were the parish Women’s Guilds of Holy Martyrs Church (Bayside, NY), St. Gregory the Enlightener Church (White Plains, NY), St. John Church (Southfield, MI), St. Kevork Church (Houston, TX), St. Leon Church (Fair Lawn, NJ), St. Sarkis Church (Charlotte, NC), St. Mary Church (Washington, DC), St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Church (Wynnewood, PA), and St. Sarkis Church (Dallas, TX).
Parish pastors Fr. Ghevont Ajamian, Fr. Diran Bohajian, and Fr. Mesrob Hovsepyan also took part in the gathering.
WGCC chair Sara Andonian led the discussions, which included presentations on the 2026 “Saintly Women’s Day” commemoration (dedicated to St. Ashkhen and St. Khosrovitoukhd); the upcoming Women’s Guild Assembly in Milwaukee, WI; and topics revolving around dues, bylaws, and fundraising initiatives. A question-and-answer period followed.
Attendees from the parish guilds and the central council enjoyed the positive and productive atmosphere of the meeting, and the WGCC has planned another such meeting for early 2026.
