A special celebration will take place in the Eastern Diocese this weekend, as a new Armenian Church will be consecrated for the faithful community of St. Sarkis Church of Carrollton, TX.
Parishioners and their pastor, Fr. Ghevond Ajamian, have planned a weekend of services from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24, to consecrate their magnificent new church located at 4423 Charles Street, in Carrollton (Dallas County).
The consecration itself will take place on the morning of Saturday, April 23, with four bishops performing the sacrament: Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel Findikyan; former Primate and current Legate of Western Europe Archbishop Khajag Barsamian; Diocesan Legate and Ecumenical Director Archbishop Vicken Aykazian; and Primate of the Australian Diocese Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian. All four bishops have enjoyed deep connections with the Dallas Armenian community.

Schedule of Services
The schedule is as follows: The Trnpatsek (“Opening of the Doors”) service will be held on Friday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m., the formal Church Consecration and Episcopal Liturgy will take place. On that occasion, main benefactors Elie and Ella Akilian, along with nine other godfathers, will be blessed. A celebratory banquet will follow at 3 p.m.
Finally, on Sunday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m., the inaugural Divine Liturgy in the new sanctuary will be celebrated, along with the consecration of the sanctuary’s icons and baptismal font.
