WATCH: Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan’s Video Message

This week, Diocesan Primate Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan recorded a brief video message from his hospital room at Albany Medical Center, where he continues to recover from an automobile accident in mid-July.

“The messages of care and concern you have sent to me have been very meaningful, sustaining my heart and spirit with your love and encouragement,” Fr. Parsamyan says in the video message, referring to the beautiful outpouring of prayers and good wishes he has received from people across our community.

Above all, says the Primate, he looks forward to resuming his active ministry, and serving the faithful of the Eastern Diocese.

From the depths of his personal experience, Fr. Mesrop also directed words of hope to all who find themselves in difficult circumstances during these challenging times. “My friends,” he says, “the weeks since my accident have been a time of trial. But these days have made me even more aware of the trials all of us have been enduring for the past few years.”

“What I want to impress on all among you, who are enduring hardship of body or spirit, is this: You are not alone. You are part of a community of faithful people, who share the burdens and joys of living. That is the meaning of the Church—and the Armenian Church in particular.”
