His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, presided over the latest gathering of the Supreme Spiritual Council, beginning on November 8, 2021.
The meeting held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin featured an extended composition of church leaders, with the primates of a number of global dioceses taking part in the proceedings—including Primate of the Eastern Diocese Bishop Daniel.
Convening over five days, the council discussed various administrative, canonical, and national issues in the context of the worldwide Armenian Church. Special emphasis was given to the aftermath of the Artsakh war, the pandemic, and the church-sponsored programs implemented to alleviate distress and suffering related to these.
The agenda also reviewed matters related to specific diocesan and patriarchal jurisdictions.
