St. Nersess Seminary Holds Graduation Ceremony

On the evening of May 14, St. Nersess Armenian Seminary held an outdoor ceremony to formally honor its graduating class of 2020-2021. The long-awaited event, postponed during the pandemic last year, brought together a limited number of attendees to celebrate the graduation of Dn. Timothy Aznavourian, Dn. Armen Terjimanian, and Andrew Kayaian.

Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel presided over the occasion that went forward at the seminary’s campus in Armonk, NY. Among the guests attending were clergy, dignitaries, faculty, alumni, and family members.

Speakers included seminary dean Fr. Mardiros Chevian; St, Nersess Board member Zaven Tachdjian; 2017 graduate Dn. Eric Vozzy; and fellow seminary classmate Adam Bullock—who two days later would be ordained a deacon in the seminary chapel, by the Primate’s hand.

Also addressing the occasion was Dr. Ionut-Alexandru Tudorie, Academic Dean at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, and Dr. Roberta Ervine, Professor of Armenian Studies at St. Nersess.

The seminary’s three graduates each took turns at the podium to offer their gracious personal remarks.

Before conferring each graduate with a diploma, Bishop Daniel offered some personal reflections. “Lead with love in every encounter and experience,” he said, “and you will never fail as a child a God.”
