On Friday evening, November 21, the faithful of Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Church of Providence, RI, rejoiced in the Installation Service of their new pastor. Diocesan Primate Bishop Mesrob Parsamyan led the service that welcomed Fr. Sevak Gabrielyan and his family to the community.
Some 200 parishioners, along with brother clergy from around the New England region, filled the church sanctuary with prayer, hope, and a deep sense of community. The spiritually uplifting service marked the start of a new chapter for the historic Providence parish.
A lovely reception followed, where parishioners gathered to congratulate Der Sevak and celebrate the first of many joyous occasions with their pastor and his family.
“As Der Sevak begins his ministry among the faithful of this parish, we have all experienced a moment filled with joy, hope, and a deep awareness of God’s providence,” said Bishop Mesrop.
He went on: “Let us continue to place our trust in the Lord, and let us keep Fr. Sevak, his family, and the Sts. Sahag and Mesrob community in our prayers. May their service together shine brightly with faith and renewal. May God bless this new chapter with abundant grace and spiritual growth.”
