Diocesan Primate Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Monday, December 1, for a special interchurch luncheon hosted by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York.
Every year on the Feast of St. Andrew, Cardinal Dolan graciously hosts this luncheon for his brother clergy of the Orthodox churches.
“It’s such a beautiful tradition of friendship, respect, and Christian unity,” said Bishop Mesrop. “To be with my brothers in ministry, to share fellowship, conversation, and prayer together in that soaring, sacred space of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, was truly uplifting for me.”
He added: “Such gatherings remind us of the fundamental bond we share in Christ, and the hope we carry for greater unity among our churches. I’m grateful to Cardinal Dolan for his invitation and warm hospitality, and for the spirit of brotherhood that filled this annual gathering.”
