A brief service and program commemorating the Armenian Genocide will be held at the Genocide Memorial Monument at Riverfront Park in Troy, NY, on Tuesday, Apr. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The event organized by the Armenian National Committee of Albany is supported by the city’s chapters of Homenetmen and Knights & Daughters of Vartan. The St. Thomas Church of Tenafly, NJ, and its Kirikian Armenian School, will host the “Armenian Jeopardy Tournament of Champions” on Sunday, Apr. 15, at 2 p.m., at the church hall (174 Essex Dr., Tenafly). The Eastern Diocese’s Krikor & Clara Zohrab Information Center will sponsor an evening of dramatic readings from “The Forty Days of Musa Dagh,” on Thursday, Apr. 12, at 7 p.m.,  in Guild Hall of the Diocesan Center (630 Second Ave., New York). A new play about the Armenian Genocide—Daybreak, by Joyce Van Dyke—will debut off-Broadway on Saturday, Apr. 21 (and run through Sunday, May 13), 7:30 p.m., at the Beckett Theatre (410 W. 42nd St., New York City). Set in three time periods, the play is inspired by true stories of two Armenian women—friends and survivors of the Genocide—who endure the continuing impact of genocide through time. The Women’s Guild of Hye Pointe Church in Bradford, MA, will honor two saintly women of church history–Priscilla and Phoebe–in a prayer service and luncheon on Saturday, Apr. 14, at the church (1280 Boston Rd., Bradford).
