Book Presentation in Providence, RI

Cathedral 50th Anniversary Photo Exhibit
On Saturday, May 5, St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York City will launch its 50th anniversary weekend with the grand opening of an exhibit of photos and artifacts: “Image of a Living Church: 50 Years of Faith at St. Vartan Cathedral.” The exhibit will open at 5 p.m. in Y-Room of the Diocesan Center (630 Second Ave., NYC; enter at 35th St.) and run through the weekend. The exhibit opening will be followed by a “Concert of Sacred Music” in the sanctuary, starting at 7 p.m. (see its individual listing for details and ticket contacts). A Pontifical Divine Liturgy on Sunday, May 6 (starting 10:30 a.m.) will be celebrated by His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, who will preside over the weekend’s activities. Holy Ascension Name Day Celebration
Holy Ascension Church of Trumbull, CT will honor its name day on Thursday, May 10. A luncheon and brief program will take place in the church hall (1460 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull) following the Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m., celebrated by visiting Fr. Mesrob Hovsepyan, with homily by Fr. Diran Bohajian, and with more than a dozen clergy participating. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Holy Ascension’s re-location from Bridgeport to Trumbull.
