ONLINE Youth Fellowship: #FellowshipFromHome
The Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries will continue its online fellowship series this fall, under the title #FellowshipFromHome. The virtual forum is a continuation of the series #StayHome and #StayConnected, launched last spring in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic crisis. #FellowshipFromHome will meet monthly with the aim of keeping Armenian Church youth and young adults virtually connected, despite the restrictions on gatherings of the COVID-19 pandemic. This month’s dates will be as follows:
Sunday, October 11 (Diving Deep Discussion, ACYOA Seniors 18+)
Tuesday, October 13 (Teen Talk, ACYOA Juniors 13-18)
Thursday, October 15 (Camp Connections, Campers 8-15).
Sessions will be led by Diocesan clergy, staff, or ACYOA Central Council members, using the Zoom video conference platform. Each program starts at 7 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. CDT) and lasts an hour. Fair Lawn “Pick-Up” Food Festival
St. Leon Church of Fair Lawn, NJ, will hold its annual Food Festival as an “Advance Order & Pick-Up” event on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16-17, on the church grounds (12-61 Saddle River Rd., Fair Lawn). Please order online prior to Oct. 6 to enjoy the delicacies prepared by the Women’s Guild and church volunteers. Food can be picked up on both days from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. All food orders must be placed online through the Food Festival website, accessed by clicking here. St. James Church, Watertown, MA, will hold its 73rd annual Take-Out Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 17, 12 noon-6 p.m., at the church facility (465 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown). CANCELLED: ONLINE EVENT: Day-Long Vemkar Workshop on Healing
This event has been cancelled, so as not to conflict with events in support of Artsakh and Armenia scheduled for the same time.
The Eastern Diocese’s new educational initiative, VEMKAR, will hold its first day-long workshop on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as an online gathering over the Zoom video conference platform. Under the theme “Christ as Healer,” the day will open with a morning service and close with a healing service; in between are workshops on Healing Verbal Abuse, Healing the Wound of Racism, and Healing Our Veteran Community.
