The Eastern Diocese is pleased to announce the appointment of Serien Keleshian as the new Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator (ACYOA Juniors) in the Diocese’s Department of Ministries.
In her new role, Serien will lead ACYOA Juniors programming across the Diocese; support parish chapters; and organize leadership conferences, retreats, and service initiatives. She will also play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth and Armenian Christian identity of our youth, while contributing to Diocesan educational resources—including youth Bible studies and content for Vemkar Weekly.
A Texas native with strong Armenian roots from Lebanon, Serien holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. She has been deeply involved in the Armenian Church since childhood, and has long felt a calling to serve Christ and His church through ministry.
At her home parish of St. Sarkis Church in Dallas, TX, Serien has led ACYOA Juniors, chaired the ACYOA Seniors, assisted in the Little Saints ministry, and taught Sunday School for more than five years. She is also a devoted choir member, and has organized a children’s choir to teach the hymns of the Armenian Church. Beyond her parish, she has shared her gifts with sister churches, including serving as a guest speaker for Sunday school retreats at the Malankara Church in Dallas.
For the past three years, Serien has served as a counselor at the St. Nersess Seminary summer conferences, and is active in the Diocese’s Avedis Evangelism Ministry, contributing to Vemkar content.
Serien’s new role went into effect Monday, September 29. We are confident that her faith, energy, and dedication will greatly enrich our ministry to ACYOA Juniors throughout the Diocese, and will complement the ongoing work of longtime Diocesan youth minister Jennifer Morris with the ACYOA Seniors.
