On behalf of the Eastern Diocese, the directors of St. Vartan Camp issued an urgent appeal this week, to secure an Aquatics Director for the 2022 summer camp sessions.
“If we do not secure an Aquatics Director, we cannot open the pool at Camp this summer,” said the camp directors in their appeal to parishes, families, clergy and lay leaders of the Diocese. “Please help us make the opening of the pool a reality for St. Vartan Camp this summer. We will of course have other fun water activities, in the event that we cannot open the pool; but a summer in our gorgeous pool is ideal.”
The three week-long sessions scheduled for St. Vartan Camp at the Ararat Center this summer will meet from July 3 through August 13. The Diocese is excited to be resuming the in-person camping experience this summer, after two years of “virtual” camps. In recent weeks, numerous families have registered their children—as both new and returning campers—for all the sessions at Midwest Hye Camp (Ingleside, IL) and St. Vartan Camp (Greenville, NY).

An Urgent Appeal For Our Diocese
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need the help of the Armenian community at large in our Diocese, as well as every member in our church communities, to help make our St. Vartan Camp successful this year. In order to have our children, youth, and staff enjoy the beautiful pool at the Ararat Center this summer, we are in desperate need of an Aquatics Director. We were able to secure our Water Safety Instructor, so half our battle is complete.
If we do not secure an Aquatics Director, we CANNOT open the pool at Camp this summer.
Please help us make the opening of the pool a reality for our Camp this summer. We will of course include other fun water activities in the event that we cannot open the pool, but a summer in our gorgeous pool is ideal.
