An Example of Humility, Compassion, & Unwavering Faith

On Friday, October 17, Diocesan Primate Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan traveled to Holy Translators Church in Framingham, MA, for a special pastoral visit filled with joy and heartfelt gratitude.

It was an evening to honor the coming retirement of Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, who has faithfully served the Armenian Church for decades with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith. The event was a moving tribute to Fr. Krikor’s life of ministry, and to his continuing spiritual legacy, which includes the founding of Holy Translators Church itself, and a family that is actively carrying Der Krikor’s service to God into another generation.

Bishop Mesrop expressed his deep appreciation to both Fr. Krikor and Yn. LuAnn, offering prayers for their continued blessings in the next chapter of their lives.

In a special service the following day, Bishop Mesrop ordained new acolytes and sub-deacons at Holy Translators Church. “The ordination service was a beautiful and uplifting moment for the parish, as young men stepped forward to commit themselves to the service of the altar and the Armenian Church,” reflected Bishop Mesrop. He spoke of the hope these new servants represent for the future, and the vital role they will play in sharing God’s light with the world.

Throughout the weekend, the spirit of prayer, fellowship, and community was strongly felt—a reflection of the living faith at Holy Translators.

“Fr. Krikor’s many years of ministry have touched so many hearts, and his example will continue to inspire others for years to come,” said the Primate. “We invite the faithful to continue praying for Fr. Krikor and Yn. LuAnn; their children Dn. Arthur, Jennifer, and Fr. Haroutiun; and the entire Sabounjian family, as they enter a new phase of their spiritual journey of ministry.”
