STATEMENT
From the Diocesan Primates and Patriarchal Legates of the Armenian Church in the Diaspora
We, the Diocesan leaders and Pontifical legates of the Diaspora, express our deep concern regarding the continued imprisonment of Archbishop Michael Ajabahian and Archbishop Bagrat Galstanian.
For our faithful people, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and our clergy, the ongoing detention of two high-ranking clergy by the judicial system of the Republic of Armenia is an unusual and heartbreaking phenomenon.
We believe that the application of a preventive measure in the form of detention against them can be replaced with alternative measures, allowing them to remain free until a fair judicial decision is made.
Being intimately familiar with the life paths of our two spiritual brothers, their personal and spiritual activities and dedicated service, as well as their public reputation, we are convinced that, being at liberty, they will in no way hinder the preliminary investigation or trial process.
It is our expectation and fervent desire that the trials of the two archbishops be conducted openly and transparently, solely on the basis of statute and the rule of law, ensuring equal protection of the rights of all parties.
We continue to pray for the health and well-being of our spiritual brothers, and are hopeful that as a result of a legal and fair trial, they will be vindicated and their full rights will be restored.

Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու Սփիւռքի թեմակալ առաջնորդների եւ հայրապետական պատուիրակների
Մենք՝ Սփիւռքի թեմակալ առաջնորդներս եւ հայրապետական պատուիրակներս, մեր խորը մտահոգութիւնն ենք յայտնում՝ Միքայէլ արքեպիսկոպոս Աջապահեանի եւ Բագրատ արքեպիսկոպոս Գալստանեանի անազատութեան մէջ մնալու առնչութեամբ։
Մեր հաւատացեալ ժողովրդի, Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական Եկեղեցու եւ մեր հոգեւոր դասի համար, անսովոր եւ սրտաբեկիչ երեւոյթ է երկու բարձրաստիճան հոգեւորականների շարունակուող արգելափակումը Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան դատական համակարգի կողմից:
Մենք համարում ենք, որ նրանց նկատմամբ կալանքի ձեւով խափանման միջոցի կիրառումը կարող է փոխարինուել ազատութեան մեջ մնալու այլընտրանքային միջոցներով, մինչեւ դատական արդար վճռի իրականացումը։
Մօտիկից ծանօթ լինելով մեր երկու հոգեւոր եղբայրների կեանքի ուղեգծին, նրանց անձնական ու հոգեւոր գործունեութեանն ու կենսանուէր ծառայութեանը, ինչպէս նաեւ նրանց հանրային հեղինակութեանը, մենք համոզուած ենք, որ լինելով ազատութեան մէջ, նրանք ոչ մի կերպ չեն խոչընդոտի նախաքննութեան կամ դատաքննութեան ընթացքին։
Մեր սպասումն ու ջերմ փափագն է, որ երկու արքեպիսկոպոսների դատավարութիւնները իրականացուեն բաց եւ թափանցիկ, բացառապէս օրէնքի եւ իրաւունքի գերակայութեան հիման վրայ՝ ապահովելով բոլոր կողմերի իրաւունքների հաւասար պաշտպանութիւնը։
Մենք շարունակում ենք աղօթել մեր հոգեւոր եղբայրների առողջութեան եւ բարօրութեան համար եւ լիայոյս ենք, որ օրինական ու արդար դատավարութեան արդիւնքում նրանք կ’արդարացուեն եւ կը վերականգնուեն իրենց ամբողջական իրաւունքները։
