The past month has been a desperate time for our Armenian countrymen in the republics of Armenia and Artsakh, as they fight for their very survival. At stake are the lives of innocent men, women, and children, and the destruction of our centuries-old Christian civilization.

During these tense days, one positive sign has been to see friends of the Armenian Church and people stepping forward to stand with us in a spirit of prayerful solidarity.

Such an occasion will take place at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York, on the evening of Wednesday, October 21. At 6:30 p.m. (EDT), the cathedral will host an Ecumenical Service for Peace and Justice in Armenia, Artsakh and the World.

Bishop Daniel Findikyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, will preside over the occasion, which will include Armenian clergy from around the Diocese.

Joining us will be distinguished clergymen from our sister churches representing the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant traditions.

We are deeply honored to welcome national church leaders Cardinal Timothy Dolan of the Roman Catholic Church, Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Church, and Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Church to speak on this occasion.

The hour-long ecumenical service will be broadcast live over the St. Vartan Cathedral and Eastern Diocese Facebook pages. Click the links below to watch.

For this special service, the cathedral will be open to the public, but with limited seating due to the pandemic. Precautions of mask-wearing and social distancing will be observed.

Please join your voice in prayer at this critical time in our national life.
