The 120th Diocesan Assembly will convene this week (May 6-7) in a “hybrid” format, incorporating both in-person and online participation. The in-person gatherings will take place at the Diocesan Center in New York City. Delegates who decide not to travel to New York for the Assembly will be able to participate fully online. Voting for all participants, live and virtual, will be conducted on a secure online platform.
Please note that all participants (e.g., clergy, delegates, parish council chairs), whether attending in-person or virtually, must register for the Diocesan Assembly by May 1. Online observers also must register in advance (choose “Other” where prompted); in-person observers are not required to pre-register. Click here to register online.
The General Sessions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7. Those sessions will be the occasion for an election for the office of Primate, which is held every four years in accordance with the Diocesan Bylaws. The Diocesan Council has announced that the slate of candidates for the election of Primate would include Bishop Daniel Findikyan, Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian, and Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan.
In addition to the General Sessions, “breakout sessions” concerning Diocesan operations, organizations, and ministries will meet on three consecutive Tuesday evenings (May 10, 17, and 24) starting at 7 p.m., on the Zoom platform.
