Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, visited St. Sarkis Church in Carrollton, TX, from February 10 to 12, as the parish celebrated its name day. The visit occurred as the parish is taking a bold step into its future.
The International Joint Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic and Oriental Orthodox Churches has released its report for the group’s 14th annual meeting, which took place in Rome, January 22-27, 2017. The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity hosted the gathering.
From February 3 to 5, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese, visited St. Sarkis Church of Charlotte, NC. The Primate’s visit included a number of meetings with community members and the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday.
Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Diocesan Legate and Ecumenical Director, took part in a delegation of church leaders visiting Iraq from January 20 to 24. The visit was organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and included meetings with political leaders, United Nations representatives, humanitarian aid workers, refugees, and local Christian leaders in Baghdad and the northern Kurdistan region.
