Armenian professional associations in the engineering, scientific, legal, health, and other fields are sponsoring the 14th annual Mentoring & Networking Forum, on Friday, Mar. 28, at 6:30 p.m., hosted at Fordham University (113 West 60th St., at 9th Ave., New York City / 10th floor). College and high school students, as well as working professionals will have the opportunity to network with professionals in a variety of fields. The 2025 New York Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, this year marking 110 years since that catastrophic episode of history, will take place on Sunday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m., in Times Square (7th Ave. and 46th St., NYC). The annual Times Square gathering, organized by the Knights & Daughters of Vartan, attracts thousands of Armenian and non-Armenian participants each year. For 2025, the event will again feature remarks and tributes from prominent political figures, civic leaders, representatives of major Armenian American organizations, scholars and educators, as well as distinguished Armenian and non-Armenian clergy. The Cultural Committee of St. Thomas Church invites you to a special evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and New York Times bestselling author Peter Balakian, for a live reading and multimedia presentation of “A Poetry Reading in Diyarbakir.” Balakian will reflect on his powerful 2015 poetry reading in Diyarbakir, Turkey—historically known as Dikranagerd to Armenians. Through poetry, storytelling, and a PowerPoint presentation, Balakian will examine the deep connections between historical memory, cultural identity, and artistic expression. On Saturday, April 26th, Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs will be hosting their event in honor of the 110th anniversary commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, titled: “An Armenian Triptych: Retracing Our Steps,” a short film by Aram Bajakian, Kevork Mourad, and Alan Semerdjian.
