St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York will host an “Ecumenical Service for Peace and Justice in Armenia, Artsakh and the World,” on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. (EDT). Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel will preside over the occasion, which will include Armenian clergy from around the Diocese, as well as distinguished clergymen from sister churches representing the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant traditions. The Eastern Diocese is deeply honored to welcome national church leaders Cardinal Timothy Dolan of the Roman Catholic Church, Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Church, and Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Church to speak on this occasion. For this special service, the cathedral will be open to the public, but with limited seating due to the pandemic. Precautions of mask-wearing and social distancing will be observed. St. Vartan Cathedral is located at 630 Second Avenue (at 34th Street), in New York City. The hour-long ecumenical service will be broadcast live over the St. Vartan Cathedral Facebook page.
