The Smithsonian Institute’s Folklife Festival will focus on the heritage of Armenia this summer, as one of its three featured cultural traditions. The festival will run June 27-July 1 and July 4-8, on the National Mall (b/n 12th and 14th Sts., south of the Museum of American History), in Washington, DC.
“Armenia: Creating Home” will offer a glimpse into the culture of Armenia and its ongoing exchange with diaspora communities across the world, through food presentations and artisan craft traditions. Click on the link to log onto the festival website’s Armenia content.
The Smithsonian Institute is also looking for volunteers to assist stage managers, work with participants, etc., during the Folklife Festival. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and will receive meal tickets and a t-shirt. Click on the link to access and complete a volunteer application.
