Diocesan Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian visited the St. Gregory of Narek Church in Cleveland, OH, on Saturday and Sunday, November 4-5, as the parish honored Rev. Fr. Hratch Sargsyan on the 10th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
At a Saturday banquet in Fr. Sarsyan’s honor, the mood was happy and filled with the affection felt by the parishioners for their pastor. Accepting the sentiments with humility and optimism, Fr. Sargsyan spoke of his love for his vocations, and thanked Yeretzgin Naira, and their daughters Tatev and Mane, for their support and love.
Archbishop Barsamian praised Fr. Sargsyan’s efforts in the parish and Diocese alike. “Since arriving in our Diocese, Der Hratch has been a champion of guiding our people, both young and old, to a deeper appreciation of their faith,” he said.
On Sunday the Primate presided over badarak as Fr. Sargsyan celebrated. Assisting in the service was the Rev. Fr. Garabed Kochakian. The Divine Liturgy was also an occasion for Archbishop Barsamian to ordain three acolytes: Andre Avitsian, Roupen Kayayan, and Peter Zahirsky.
An elaborate fellowship hour (hosted by Anoushavan and Ruzanna Yeranosyan) followed services.
