Worshipers gathered at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral on Easter Sunday to take part in the Divine Liturgy and witness the traditional “Release of Doves” ceremony. This year’s Easter celebration was especially notable because 2018 marks the cathedral’s 50th anniversary.
The 50th anniversary of any institution is noteworthy. But when the institution envelops a whole community, then the milestone is monumental.

St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral will observe Holy Week, March 25 through 31, with a series of special services, culminating in the Easter Sunday celebration on April 1, 2018.
It was the first Armenian cathedral in the New World—the first built in generations.
It was realized through the united effort of ordinary people who had survived the greatest cataclysm ever to befall the Armenian people.
