July 20, 2018, marked a celebratory evening at the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America in New York City, as Armenia’s new Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan was honored at a special reception in Haik and Alice Kavookjian Auditorium.
The Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new director for the Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center, the Diocese’s research and information facility, housed in the St. Vartan Cathedral complex in New York City.
“Armenian art is not something isolated. It is woven into a global network. It needs to be understood for what makes it specifically Armenian, while also being art of global significance.”
The speaker was Dr. Helen C. Evans, addressing an enthusiastic crowd of close to a hundred on Thursday, June 7, at the Diocesan Center in New York.
Youth and clergy from across the Eastern Diocese gathered in New York City over Memorial Day weekend (May 24-28) for the 72nd annual ACYOA General Assembly and Sports Weekend.
The Eastern Diocese’s annual Awards Banquet went forward in a family-like setting of mutual admiration, affection, and encouragement, on the evening of Friday, May 4 at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in West Harrison, NY.
