In the inaugural session of the 120th Assembly of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, the clergy and delegates elected a new Primate, in the person of the Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan. Pending confirmation by His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, Fr. Mesrop will become the 13th Primate of the Eastern Diocese.
It was a special evening of paying tribute to a dedicated individual, Zarmine Boghosian, the former principal and teacher at the Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School for decades, and a lifelong champion of teaching and transmitting the language, culture, and history of the Armenian people throughout her life.
The Diocesan Center in New York held a tribute in honor of Zarmine Boghosian on April 27, 2022, in honor of her recently-published memoir, Azezen America. During the evening program, Hovhannes Khosdeghian delivered the Armenian remarks here.
The 120th Diocesan Assembly will convene this week (May 6-7) in a “hybrid” format, incorporating both in-person and online participation.
