A most blessed and joyous homecoming took place on Saturday, October 14, when newly-ordained Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan returned to New York City’s St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral to celebrate his first episcopal Divine Liturgy as bishop of the Eastern Diocese.
The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has announced that the Blessing of the Holy Muron ceremony, planned to take place on October 1, has been postponed. Instead on that date, the Mother See will lead worldwide Armenian churches in a pan-national Prayer for Artsakh.

New York’s St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral will hold a special service on Sunday, September 17, to honor the major feast day known as Khatchveratz, or the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
The Eastern Diocese is deeply grieved by the passing of Nazar Nazarian, the gracious and visionary benefactor of the Armenian Church, nation, and numerous institutions, who passed away on August 28, 2023, just weeks after his 98th birthday.
