Last weekend, the community of St. Garabed Church of Baton Rouge, LA, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the church’s consecration and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the parish. Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), visited the parish on this occasion. He was accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Tateos Abdalian and Maestro Khoren Mekanejian, who trained the choir for the weekend’s services.
On Sunday, May 21, 2017, St. Gregory the Enlightener Church of White Plains, NY, celebrated the opening of “Harry and Edna Keleshian Hall,” a vision of the late Harry Keleshian whose dream was to have a hall that would be the center of activity for future generations of Armenians coming through the parish.
On Saturday, April 22, the Armenian Church at Hye Pointe of Bradford, MA, celebrated the opening of its “Family Life and Cultural Center,” with Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese, presiding over the ceremony.
The St. Thomas Church of Tenafly, NJ, celebrated the 52nd anniversary of it consecration with a celebratory banquet on April 9, 2017, presided over by Diocesan Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian. As in past years, the Primate celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the homily.
From March 17 to 19, 2017, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese, visited Holy Trinity Church of Cambridge, MA. He spent the weekend visiting with various members and parish groups.
