New York’s St. Vartan Cathedral welcomed a distinguished visitor on Sunday, April 7, in the person of Bishop Sahak Mashalian, of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, who celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Annunciation.
St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral will observe Holy Week, April 13 through 20, with a series of special services culminating in the Easter Sunday celebration on April 21, 2019.
Saintly Women’s Day was marked in several locations across the Eastern Diocese on March 23.
“It was one of the most moving, powerful, and emotional days of my whole life. When I left, I felt love. I didn’t know whether to cry or dance,” said the Eastern Diocesan Primate, the Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan with obvious emotion.
Dr. Christopher Sheklian, the director of the Eastern Diocese’s Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center, participated in the first meeting of the Seminar on Orthodoxy and Human Rights, at Fordham University on March 20-22.
