His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, will be arriving this week in the United States, for meetings scheduled with leaders of the Eastern Diocese.
The Eastern Diocese will hold its 119th Diocesan Assembly as an online gathering, with attendees participating remotely. The main Assembly general session will be held on Saturday, May 1, with a continuation of the general session on the evening of Tuesday, May 25.
The Eastern Diocese held its third “Sacred Music Festival” on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17. Conceived by the Diocese’s Sacred Music Council at the instigation of Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel, the festival was a celebration of Armenian liturgical music, featuring educational presentations and recitals.
The Eastern Diocese, under the auspices of Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel, has entered a new agreement with Fordham University, which will reconfigure the director’s position of the Diocese’s Zohrab Information Center into a post-doctoral fellowship.
The Eastern Diocese is pleased to announce that Diocesan Primate Bishop Daniel Findikyan will ordain Deacon Timothy Aznavourian to the Holy Order of Priesthood on Friday and Saturday, May 28-29, 2021.
