The 122nd Diocesan Assembly of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America convened on Thursday, May 2, and continued through adjournment on Saturday, May 5, 2024. It was the second Diocesan Assembly to be presided over by Diocesan Primate Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, and the first since his consecration as a bishop last fall.
This week, the 122nd Diocesan Assembly will convene at the Marriott Hotel in Springfield, MA. St. Mark Armenian Church of Springfield will host the Clergy Conference (meeting April 30-May 2), and the Diocesan Assembly (meeting May 2-4), bringing together hundreds of Armenian Church leaders from the Eastern Diocese.
Sunday, April 28, 2024 was a special occasion at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, renowned as the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. On that day, Episcopalian and Armenian faithful gathered for a solemn prayer service and commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.
Wednesday, April 24, will be observed by the worldwide Armenian Church as the “Feast of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.” Services at St. Vartan Cathedral will take place on Sunday, April 21, beginning at 10 a.m.
In a glittering evening of celebration, the Eastern Diocese marked the 125th Anniversary of the Armenian Church’s Diocese of America in memorable fashion at the New York Botanical Garden.
