Youth and clergy from across the Eastern Diocese gathered in Boston, MA, last weekend for the 70th annual ACYOA General Assembly and Sports Weekend.
The General Assembly was held on May 26 and 27, at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel in downtown Boston. Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, presided over the assembly.
ACYOA Juniors gathered over Memorial Day weekend at St. James Church of Watertown, MA, for the 41st annual Hye M’rtsoom program. The parish hosted 211 participants from 14 parishes across the Diocese for a weekend of worship, sports, and fellowship.

On May 15, 2016, nearly 300 guests gathered at the Villa Amalfi Restaurant in Cliffside Park, New Jersey to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the Holy Cross Armenian Church of Union City, New Jersey.
The 114th Diocesan Assembly was preceded by a clergy conference, held April 25 to 28, at the Quail Hollow Resort and Conference Center in Painesville, OH. Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), presided at the event where members of the clergy gathered for prayer, services and a series of presentations on various aspects of the ministry.
On Friday, May 13, the Eastern Diocese hosted a meeting of the ecumenical organization Christian Churches Together (CCT) with New York-area church leaders. The meeting was organized and led by the Rev. Carlos L. Malavé, Executive Director of Christian Churches Together; Bishop Michael Rozanski, CCT Moderator and President of the Catholic Family, and Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Legate and Ecumenical Director of the Eastern Diocese.
