Hard though it is to believe, an entire generation has elapsed since that infamous day of 22 years ago: September 11, 2001. We offer prayers to God for His mercy, protection, and remembrance, as across our nation, people solemnly commemorate the anniversary.

A Prayer on the Solemn 22nd Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks on America
Monday, September 11, 2023
LORD JESUS CHRIST OUR GOD, twenty-two years ago, in a dark hour for our beloved country of America, at a time of fear and turmoil, we turned to you for strength, understanding, and guidance. And again today, we ask you to hear our prayers.
Remember the souls of all those who perished in the terrible calamities of September 11, 2001, in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Receive them into the peace of your heavenly kingdom, and never cease to console their loved ones, who will always look back with grief upon their losses.
Bless, too, those who lost their lives or their loved ones in the decades since that dreadful day. Tragically, casualties of injury, death, and misery have continued up to the present, and we pray fervently for an end to violence everywhere, and the establishment of your peace among humankind.
Lord, we come to you now in another time of turmoil and demoralization, not only for America, but for the entire world—and most painfully for our homeland of Armenia and Artsakh. Bring peace and stability to our country, to our homeland, and to our world. Restore justice among your creatures: true justice that comes only from you. By the mystery of your all-powerful and miraculous holy cross, transform the world’s pain and devastation into new life and hope.
Above all, do not let us lose faith, but draw us closer to you, and lift up our hearts with the assurance of your loving care and mercy. For you are our God, the holy creator of heaven and earth, our hope and our refuge. To you we give glory, honor and worship, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
